Listening to Music

Music is the only form of art which each and every single person admires. Be it an English song or a regional song, Music has been the “in” thing. Earlier people would listen to the radio, tune in to their favorite stations and wait for their favorite songs to appear. The radio was the only means of transforming waves to music. The Gramaphone was the most popular in the 1930’s in which huge black disks contained an album.

In 1970, a company called Sony created what was first known to be as the Music Player. This was a portable device in which songs or tracks could be loaded on to a cassette. These cassettes would then be used along with the player and one could listen to their favorite tracks on the move. This seemed to be very popular with the youth and enjoyed a popular run.

In the late 80’s , the booming Music industy had robust sales and the older players were replaced with what we now call as the compact disks. Philips was the first company to launch the Cd players. This compact disks had ten times more capacity than the conventional cassettes. Nowadays, even this has become obsolete as people have switched to the more convenient form or players like Ipods, or Mp3 players which are small in size and have a very high capacity to store more than 20000 songs.
