Thrash Metal

Thrash metal was a sub genre of heavy metal and it started when bands fused influences from NWOBHM with the likes of hardcore punk.Notable songs in the 70’s which influenced thrash metal were “Children of the grave”,”Into the void” by Black Sabbath.

Then in the 80’s this music became very famous. Some of the most influential bands that help build up thrash metal are Metallica,Megadeth,Slayer,Anthrax,Kreator,Exodus and more.

Thrash metal is different from heavy metal in the playing style. Thus the guitars include low register stattaco riffs, and guitar solos played at very high speed. And the drumming utilizes snare drum and the drumming is intense and has a propellent feel to it.Thrash metal is played very fast. The lyrics usually involve nihilism, social issues, personal themes, dark themes also are covered.

Thrash metal album’s like Metallica’s Master Of Puppets,Megadeth’s Rust in Peace,Slayer’s Reign In Blood etc. and more are considered to be classics and they elevated the status of Thrash metal.Thrash metal played a very important role for the development of death metal and extreme metal.
